Florida Roadtrippin’ Day One (end point Orange City)

Day One (Sunday, July 3)
Packed up the truck and drove up to Orange City.

Stayed at 1876 Heritage Inn, which is supposed to be haunted, but I still haven’t seen a ghost. It is a tad smokey, so I’m not sure I’d recommend more than one night unless you’re a smoker. Otherwise, it’s cool and cute as hell.)

Local things to do:
Amusement Center across the street (missed out on mini golf because we got up there late.)
Blue Spring State Park (arrive early to enjoy the natural spring)
Hontoon Island State Park (take the free ferry and rent bikes or kayaks or just have lunch) <-what we did
DeLeon Springs State Park (arrive early)
Shop Deland — it has 3 bookstores and 2 record shops among other things)
Gillespie Mineral Museum at Stetson University (closed in summer)

To Eat: De La Vega in Deland is OMG delicious! (We spent so much on this meal, but it was SO worth it. I even took some leftover root veggies from my dish with me in my travel plasticware that I put in a rice dish later in the week.)

OMG, that was some good #vegfood. #vegan #deland #florida #centralflorida #cuisine #yummy #delicious
