I write uplifting things. I write depressing things.
And in many ways, those are the same thing.
Endlessly hopeful and positive without challenge feel false, even unworthy in terms of story. Reading about a hero who has everything and gets more of the same isn’t interesting. And it’s hard to be lifted up if you’re already in the clouds.
I write things inspired by people I’ve met or read about. I write about voices that need hearing. Sometimes they’re raw and painful. But they feel important. And they’re meant to help us better understand each other in an age when we all feel so broken apart.
The first Davis Groves book is out and available from most booksellers (you may have to special order). I hope you enjoy it. Most of my short stories may be hard to find at this point.
Have a great day,
Neliza
